Q:What Can I expect from a Brazilian bikini wax?

A: A Brazilian wax removes the hair from the entire pubic region, except  for a small patch just above the vaginal area. Many women request a Brazilian because it gives a clean, close wax and the freedom to wear even the most revealing swimwear and lingerie.

A traditional Brazilian includes the labia and the area that reaches into the buttocks. If there are stray hairs after waxing, the technician may also tweeze the area. The key to allowing wax to penetrate into the follicles (and provide the closest possible wax) is to relax. And many women claim the treatment is not nearly as painful as it sounds.

Q: Isn't hair in the pubic area there for a reason?

A:  Doctors say that though humans once needed protection against the elements, there's no real clinical need for pubic hair in this day and age - clothing certainly provides ample protection and warmth. Some even claim it's more hygienic to have the hair removed so it doesn't absorb sweat.

Q: What Can I expect from the treatment?

A: At the beginning of each treatment I will carry out a consultation asking you a few questions about yourself to determine what you require from the treatment and check you do not have any contra-indications. Some treatments will require you to undress to your underwear and cover yourself with a towel so specific areas can be reached, Brazilian or Hollywood waxing. Some treatments you will remain dressed and only expose the area to be treated e.g Facial.  You will then either lie on the couch covered by the blanket or seated in a chair. I will ensure you are comfortable and warm before beginning the treatment. At the end of the treatment you will be left to take your time to come round and get dressed before being offered a glass of water and given feedback on the treatment and advice.

Q: What is a contra-indication?

A: Contra-indications are particular reasons why a treatment may not be suitable or a doctors permission may be required. Important contra-indications that mean a treatment is not safe include fever, under the influence or alcohol or drugs, all over sunburn, infectious skin disease, phlebitis, undiagnosed lumps, thrombosis, fractures and swelling. Some conditions may mean a treatment can only be carried out on certain areas these include varicose veins. During the consultation I will advise you of any contra-indications and if doctors permission will be needed.

Q: How Do I pay for a treatment?

A: You can pay cash at the end of each treatment.
